Recently I was recruited to help organize and run the Italian Cafe booth at our church's annual Italian Festival. For four nights, I stuffed cannoli shells, brewed espresso and served thousands of friends, families and supporters of St. Anthony Church. I had the time of my life! Granted, my feet were sore and, boy, was I tired, but having the opportunity to work side-by-side with my daughter, Kaleigh, and my best friend, Mary, was downright spectacular.
In this day and age, we often are busy running from place to place, striving to achieve the next big goal, and often don't see the simple pleasures life offers us. I, too, often get caught up thinking about what's coming up next rather than finding joy in the moment. But, it was hard to ignore the joy that I saw on the faces of the dedicated team of volunteers who made the St. Anthony Italian Festival a success. And, I realized that it is in the simple things, like giving back, that life has it greatest rewards.
That's why I've decided to start this blog. It will be a place where I can take a few minutes to recognize and share the simple things that make my life spectacular. I hope this inspires you to celebrate the simple things in your life that bring you pleasure and together we can live our lives to the fullest - no matter what comes our way!
